Originally from the NY/NJ Metro area, Duff has been a professional musician for the last 60+ years. In 1998, he has released fifteen albums and has played with or has opened shows for such luminaries as Bruce Springsteen, Chuck Berry, Twisted Sister, Drink Small, Blackfoot, the J. Geils Band, Black Flag, Rick Derringer, Canned Heat, Aerosmith drummer Joey Kramer, and many more.

In the mid 1980’s, his band Partners In Crime scored a top 10 Indie Rock EP. Moving back into his musical roots since moving to South Carolina in 1998, he has released fifteen projects on the Nice Jacket & Bongo Boy Record labels. J. Howard is a registered BMI artist & composer. After a ten year stint with the Chilly Willy Band, he took a short hiatus from music but couldn’t shake “the music bug”. This resulted in the recording and release of his latest single “Hey Now Baby (What’s Wrong With You)”. The song gamered over 4,000 YouTube views in its first three weeks of release.

 He is now performing again with an energy his audiences say is “inspired”. J. Howard’s repertoire consists of over 400 songs. He is a seasoned storyteller and audiences delight in his recounting of anecdotes, backstory’s, and the history of various numbers that he performs.
